Mini-bible

The book of Isaiah.

Isaiah is the longest living prophet, he outlived 4 kings. His name means: God is my salvation.

Holiness to the Lord occurs 14 times in the first section and 12 times in the second section.

Who can understand the mind of God – is a key.

The law is fulfilled in the New Testamente.

Isaiah is a book of God speaking to mankind and is, together with the book of Psalms, the greatest poetic book in the bible.

Isaiah has 66 books like the bible, and it flows in the same still. It can therefore be called a mini-bible and is, at the same time, also rich in topical studies.

The Old Testament is called the Pentateuch and are historical books up to Ester.

From Ester to Job is a middle section and they are considered as poetic books.

The book of Job to the book of Malachi are the prophetic books.

The New Testament has of 3 sections.

The Gospels.

The Acts.

The Epistles and the Revelation.

Genesis chapter 3:   T he fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Isaiah chapter 1 verse 18: God answer: Come let us reason together, thought you sins are as scarlet, they will be white as snow. Thought they are red like crimson, they will be white like wool.

Exodus chapter 2 verse 24: God heard their groaning’s in the land of Egypt and remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Moses and Aaron where thereafter called, to lead the people out of Egypt, which they did with many signs and wonders.

Exodus 24 verse 1: The people went to a mountain in Sinai, there they saw and experienced the glory and the power of the Lord.

Verse 3: The people responded:

All the Lord has spoken we will do.

They soon forgot their promise to the Lord.

When Moses went up on the mountain to receive the 10 commandments, and did not come down for 40 days, the people together with Aaron made a golden calf and started to dance and worship around it.

It became a continually problem for them remembering to teach their children to keep the law and the commandments.

Do we remember to teach our children Gods word or do we just mind our own way of life ?

Isaiah chapter 2 verse 3: Come let us go to the mountain of the Lord to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways, and that we may walk in his path.

It was partly fulfilled in the time of Exodus and will be perfected in the millennium, when Christ will reign  from mount Zion and teach us his ways.

The commandments in Leviticus – were for the most part given the year the people stayed by the mountain in Sinai, when God directed Moses in organizing the priesthood and worship.

They point to the sacrifice of crucifixion and the future kingdom on earth.

Isaiah chapter 3 verse 10: Say to the righteous it will be well with them.

By keeping the law with the commandment God would see them as righteous.

As believer in an eternal God do we believe in protection from above?

We to are made righteous because of the work on the cross, which is the most important happening on planet earth.

Leviticus chapter 17 vers 11: For the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.

The book of Numbers, cover a period of 40 years.

The Lord organizes and prepares the people to enter Canaan, with God himself at the head.

Chapter 9 verse 15: The day the tabernacle was erected, the cloud covered the tent of the testimony, and in the evening it was like the appearance of fire until the morning.

Verse 17 – whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the people would set out to follow, and where the cloud settled, the people would like-vise settle down.

God’s purpose in history is to invade the arena of fallen humanity and affect the redemption of his creation, in which his people are totally engaged.

His final purpose is to establish an everlasting kingdom in the midst of the nations of the earth.

Isaiah chapter 4 verse 5: The Lord will create over the whole area of mount Zion a cloud by day and a flaming fire by night, for over all the glory will be a canopy.

Verse 6: there will be a shelter from the heat by day and refuge and protection from the storms and rain.

The lord will be there.

Christ reign in the Millenium.

Deuteronomy: The major concern, which God made with Moses and the people, where basically governmental and for:

Protection

False accusation

Punishment

Dignity

Inheritance

Property

Fruit of labor including fruit  from the ground

Rest on Sabbath

Marriage

Exploitation

Fair trial

Social order

Law.

Animals.

Deuteronomy chapter 32 – Moses song is the highlight, but first he reminded the people about their past walk with God.

Chapter 33 – Moses gave his blessings to the people before he went up on the mountain and died, as God had commanded him.

God did at first install governmental order to the people after they came out of Egypt.

The sacrifice for all trespasses was later paid for, once for all time, on the cross.

Isaiah chapter 5 – verse 1: Isaiah song a song of his beloved the vineyard. The vineyard is the people of Israel with all its ups and down.

Joshua at Gilgal chapter 5: Joshua circumcised the people in Gilgal according to Gods command. Those who where born during the 40 years, of wandering around in the wilderness, because of unbelief, had not been circumcised jet. Without the circumcision they would have lost the battle, because circumcision is a sign of redemtion – the new covenant.

God also instructed Joshua about how to take the city, and so  confirming that the war was an act of God.

Verse 15: Joshua meet the commander of the Lord.

God has special warring angels he sends out on assignment.

Joshua chapter 6:  The people marched around Jerico on the 7 day 7 times, then the the priest blew the trumpet, the people shouted, and the walls fall down bei them self.

The act is symbolic – the cutting away is part of the Abrahamic covenant.

The 7 days 7 times makes 49. The year thereafter is the year of jubilees a symbolic number all through the bible. Jericho was relished to the people by following Gods instruction.

Isaiah chapter 6: Isaiah get a new vision.

Sadly enough the people where still not ready, in spite of Gods guidiance and protection, from the time they came out of Egypt.

Verse 8: Then I heard the voice of the Lord: Who shall go before us. Then I said: Here I am, send me.

Isaiah is to warn the people very strongly.

Verse 13: A tenth portion will be left – with the stump remaining as the holy seed.

The book of Judges: God sent Judges to deliver them every time they cried out to him in spite of their rebellion. Gideon and Samson where mighty judges, at that present time.

Whoever comes against the chosen people, the holy stump, will in the end loose because of redemption done on the cross.

Immanuel – God with us.

Isaiah chapter 7 verse 14: God himself will give you a sign: Behold a virgin will be with child and bear a son and she will call him Emanuel, God with us.

God is introducing his son as a little child – the people themselves had also only little faith.

The years they rebelled where wasted years. The same goes for us.

The book of Ruth   – Ruth is a daughter in law to Naomi and a gentile. Since Ruth is a widow, she returns with Naomi to the land Israel. There she gets married to Boas, who become a descendants of David.

The book of Ruth occurs in the time of the judges and is followed by the book of 1 Samuel.

Chapter 1 verse 1: Hanna was longing for a child. After she made a promise in the temple, that the child should serve God, she conceived and gave birth to a son Samuel. Samuel became a great prophet to the people of Israel. In the end he anointed David and prophesied that he would be king over Israel.

Isaiah chapter 9: The birth and reign of the prince of peace. Verse 6: The government will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called: Wonderful counselor mighty God, eternal Father Prince of Peace.

Isaiah chapter 10 verse 20: A remnant will return.

They will truly rely on the Holy One of Israel.

1 and 2 king – David and his son Salomon’s kingship.

David conquered almost all the land. He was a mighty warrior.

Salomon build and prepared the temple and installed worship but in the end of his days, he failed, because of his relationship with the surrounding countries in connection with his many concubines that made him follow other gods.

Isaiah chapter 11 verse 1: A shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse. Jesse is the father to David. God made a covenant with David and promised him a son that would reign forever – Jesus Christ.

Verse 12: He will lift up a standard for the nations, referring to Christ reign in the millennium.

Isaiah chapter 12 verse 6: Great in your midst is the Holy one of Israel, referring to the reign of Crist.

There was peace during Salomon’s reign as king, so it will be during the 1000 year of the millennium.

1 King chapter 9 verse 6: Warning to Salomon: If you and your sons turn away from following me and do not keep my commandment and my statues, which I have set before you and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut of Israel from the land I have given them.

1 king chapter 11verse 2: God had said to the sons of Israel: You shall not associate with the people from the countries around you, for surely thy will turn your heart away to serve other gods.

Verse 3: Salomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines from the surrounding countries. In the end Salomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served other Gods – so did the people of Israel.

Verse 11: God spook to Salomon: Because you have not fully obeyed me, I will surely tear the kingdom from you. Nevertheless, I will not do it in your days because of your father David, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son.

The kingdom was divided into Israel and Judah after Salomon’s death.  The books of Chronicles confirm the ups and down of the kings of Israel and Judah until their excel to Babylon.

From 19 kings in Israel and 20 in Judah only 7 in Judah was more or less righteous in the sight of God during 430 years.

Isaiah chapter 13 to 23: The burden of the Lord.

God is at warfare with the surrounding countries because the people did not obey him according to the law of Moses.

Gods plan was for the whole world. Law and redemption had to be established in the earth before the birth of Christ.

Judgment on the 10 surrounding countries.

God has a word for all of them:

1 John chapter 2 ve rse 16:

They represent

The pride of life.

The lust of the eyes.

The lust of the flesh.

We have not received the spirit of the world but of love, power and peace.

Isaiah chapter 24 to 39: Prophetic books.

1 Corinthians chapter 14 verse 3:

Each prophesy direct a part of life.

Spirit of prophecy will always confirm.

Exhortation is for comforting and showing the way.

Edifying is for building up.

Each prophesies direct a part of life.

Isaiah chapter 25 verse 6 to 8: Comfort.

The Lord will prepare a lavish banquet for all people on this mountain. A banquet of ages vine, choice pieces of marrow and refined aged wine.

and on this mountain he will swallow up the covering which is over all people.

Even the covering which is stretched over all nations, he will swallow up death for all time.

Chapter 26 verse 3: The steadfast in mind you will keep in perfect peace.

Chapter 27 verse 6: Israel will blossom and fill the whole World with peace.

  .-

Chapter 28 verse 10: Edifying: Order on order – line on line. A little her and a little there.

Those who criticize will accept instruction.

Chapter 30 verse 21: Your ears will hear a word behind you: This is the way

Isaiah chapter 32 vers 1:  A glorious future: A king will reign righteously and princes will rule justly.

Isaiah chapter 35 verse 10: The ransom of the Lord will return and come with joyful shouting to Zion.

Gods redemption plan for mankind.

Isaiah chapter 36 to 39: King Hezekiah was given additional time of 15 years and promised peace as long he lived.

Chapter 39 verse 6: God warn king Hezekiah, through Esaiah, that a day will come anyway, where the people will go into captivity and some of his sons will be officials in the Babylonian kingdom.

The 15 years speaks of additional time given to the Jews in the end-time, because they miss it when Christ came the first time.

Prophets were always on the scene, to warn and guide the king and the people.

According to weather the king was obedient to the law given of Moses, or he choose to act after his own decisions, so was for most part the blessing on the country and the people.

The people only served the Lord mostly when the king did. If the king chose to ignore the commandment and not listen to the prophet, the people naturally followed and became disobedient as well.

Eventually Jerusalem was captured, and the people went into captivity in the Babylonian kingdom in the 432 year. God sent, in the so-called silent years, chosen prophets to encourage the people with the promise to return some day.

Daniel was one of the great prophets. He fasted and prayed much. Angels showed and explained to him the mystery of Gods plan for the future and his chosen people.

God is very much in charge of the people he created in his own image on this planet. He wants to draw all men to himself at a free choice.

Eventually after 70 years in exile the people started to return to the promise land.

Daniel understood, after much praying and fasting, the mysteries and timing behind their captivity.

Daniel chapter 9 verse 22: The archangel Gabriel has come to give Daniel insight and understanding.

Verse 24: 70 weeks has been degreed for your people and your holy city to make an end to sin and to make atonement for iniquity to bring in everlasting righteousness to seal up the vision and prophesy and to anoint the most holy place.

Verse 25 – 26 and 27: In this few lines is prophesy up to Christ first and second coming revealed.

It is very complex to understand that’s why Gabriel was sent to give Daniel insight and understanding.

God made the 7-day as a day of rest – the Sabbath. Likevise the 7 year was a year where the land had to rest as well.

Therefor in Daniel a week refers to 7 years.

Gabriel speaks of 7 and 62 weeks = 69 weeks which make 483 years.

The 7 weeks may refer to the period of complete restoration of Jerusalem by Ezra and Nehemiah.

After 62 weeks Messiah will be cut of.

It refers to the  crucifixion.

There will be no peace unto the end.

The time between the 62 and 7 weeks is the time of the gentiles and the new covenant the New Testament. Left over is one last week.

The book of Revelation is the last week before Christ return. If we ignore the given warnings we can risk to enter into the great tribulation during antichrists last 3 and a half-year.

I Corinthians chapter 15 verse 51: The true believers will be taken out of the world before that time.

The day is a secret even Jesus said he did not knew, when it will occur. It will come as a great surprise to the whole world.

Verse 27: He the antichrist will make a firm covenant with many for one week – 7 years.

In the middle of the week he will break the covenant.

The last 3 and half year is the tribulation, the third world war.

At the end of the 3 and half a year Christ will return to establish an everlasting kingdom.

It is possible to start count and recount the years.

In the end God is always right.

Isaiah chapter 40 to chapter 48: Coming to the New Testament time. It flows with John the Baptist and Jesus ministry and resurrection.

Verse 3: A voice is calling – clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness. It refers to John the Baptist.

Verse 31: Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

Jesus came to fulfill and strengthen those waiting for him. Not all received him.

Isaiah chapter 43 verse 22: Israel’s shortcoming

Verse 25: I am the one that wipes out your transgressions for my own sake. I will not remember your sins anymore, points to crucifixion.

Isaiah chapter 46 verse 8 – 11. God is declaring he is God of generations and he will do according to his word.

God warns not to have anything to do with her.

Isaiah chapter 48 verse 22: There is no peace for the wicked says the Lord.

Isaiah chapter 49 verse 6: I will make you a light of the nations so that my salvation my reach to the end of the earth.

Verse 8: I will be acovenant for all people.

Verse 22: Gods end-time promise that all will return to the promise land.

Isaiah chapter 51 verse 4 to 9: All through the bible, Gods prophetic word about the end-time is mentioned over and over again.

Verse 6: The sky will vanish like smoke, and the earth will wear out like a garment.

Isaiah chapter 53: The lords suffering on Calvary for the sins of the world.

Verse 4: Surely our grief he bore, and our sorrows he carried.

Without Jesus Christ suffering on the cross, righteousness would not prevail to all generations.

Isaiah 57 verse 21: There is no peace for the wicked says the Lord.

Isaiah chapter 58 to 66: Refers to the Epistles and the book of Revelation.

Isaiah 59 verse 2i: Gods covenant.

From faith to faith from glory to glory.

Romans chapter 8 verse 30. Whom he predestined, he also called, and those he called, he also justified, and those he justified he also glorified.

A remainder – God count our character more than our works. Gods aim is to transform us to the image of his son Jesus Christ.

Isaiah chapter 63: Gods vengeance on the nations.

Verse 2: Why is your apparel red and your garments like the one who treads in the wine press.

Isaiah chapter 65 verse 17: Behold I create a new heaven and a new earth.

Revelation chapter 21 – confirms the  above scripture.

Isaiah chapter 66: God confirms his majestic.

To him, who is humble and contrite of spirit and who tremble at my word, to him will I look.

When God has said something 3 times it is settled.

Isaiah chapter 48 verse 22 :

There is no peace for the wicked.

Isaiah chapter 57 verse 21:

There is no peace for the wicked.

Isaiah chapter 66 verse 24:

They will be an abhorrence to all mankind.

3 times 3 = 9: In every 9 chapter a warning. When knowing the end who then will dare to rebel?

The number 9 is also the number of judgement and the Holy Spirit.

If you choose life then make a wow,

because the angels are waiting to know.

The joy is great in heaven above,

for every soul that makes a wow.

A kingdom eternal is the price,

you will be a member of a royal family life.
